Katie is a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer specialising in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare department. She deals with matters relating to section 21a under the Mental Capacity Act and section 15/16 under the Mental Health Act.

Areas of her work include:  

  • Advising in respect of health and welfare matters in the Court of Protection
  • Applications pursuant to s16 and s21A Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Accepting instructions from professional Relevant Person's Representative's (RPR’s), family members and the Official Solicitor.

APPROACH

Katie is considerate, compassionate and eager to achieve the best outcome for the benefit of her clients.

She ensures her clients receive the best level of support and always tries to ensure that not only the wishes and feelings of clients are expressed but the views of relatives are considered and relatives are kept informed at each stage throughout the proceedings.

Katie has a friendly and empathetic approach, she understands that issues can be delicate and distressing at times so she ensures that information provided is tailored to the needs of each client trying her best to help them understand the process and outcome. 

EXPERIENCE

Katie has worked in the legal sector for over 14 years. She previously gained experience in a range of complimentary areas such as child protection, family law, domestic abuse and serious injury claims.
