Stephen Scholes is a prolific convicted paedophile, and we have written previously about his sexual abuse of children while he was a teacher in the Huddersfield and Dewsbury area. He is known to have abused many children while at Royds Hall School, but he also taught at Holmfirth High and Combs Hill, as well as being involved with local Scout groups.

Stephen Scholes pleaded guilty to many sexual offences against a large number of children at a trial in 2016 and was given a long prison sentence. Several other victims of his abuse came forward and although he did not plead guilty he was convicted again, following a trial at Leeds Crown Court in 2018. However he has recently been released from prison on parole. Over this period we have helped many of his victims claim compensation.

Stephen Scholes is now part of a third set of criminal proceedings after more people have come forward and disclosed the abuse that they suffered by him. He was in Leeds Magistrates Court in December 2020 and the case will be transferred to Leeds Crown Court in early 2021. Scholes was granted bail pending his trial.
