British Claims Awards: Rising Star finalist
By Tamlin Bolton
The British Claims Awards are set to take place on 8 June 2023 at Leonardo Royal London, St Paul’s and Switalskis are excited to announce that Tamlin Bolton, solicitor, has been nominated for the Rising Star Award.
In light of her nomination, we took time out to talk to Tamlin about her career to date. Here are her responses to some of the questions:
How long have you been a lawyer?
I qualified as a lawyer in 2015. I was a paralegal for 4 years before that so I have been in practice for about 12 years.
Why do you do what you do ?
As a primary motivator, I believe that responsible parties should be held accountable for the harm they cause and I want to play a role in achieving that. Our legal system is complicated and capricious but it is the nearest thing we have to a remedy.
I believe my work has the potential for impact; we have the opportunity to make a tangible effect on people’s lives by helping them obtain closure.
How do you do what you do ?
I am supported by an exceptionally strong team and I simply enjoy my job. It would be wrong to say it is easy, it certainly makes you a terribly anxious patient (!) but when you see change and you recognise the importance of your role in people’s lives, it is exceptionally rewarding.
What makes a good lawyer ?
Good lawyers are analytical, practical and driven by the work they do. Amongst the abundance of basic legal skills needed, they are vigorous, passionate advocates arguing on behalf of their clients, who truly rely on them for help.
We would like to take this time to thank Tamlin for her continued hard work and support at Switalskis. We wish her the very best of luck for the awards.blog content
