After a career of 40 years in banking, Sue set up her own business consulting to UK law firms.  She’s been an independent non-exec director to Switalskis since February 2021.

Sue is involved in the firm’s financial management and performance, she is a member of the firm's management board, chair of the directors' remuneration committee and sits on our director selection committee.

APPROACH

Sue brings an independence of mind to our strategic thinking and her insight into the UK legal sector is held in high regard.  As part of our management team, she adopts a democratic approach, is keen to know of others’ thoughts and encourages them to speak openly in a safe environment. 

EXPERIENCE

Sue has advised UK law firms since 1993 and in 2011 was appointed to a senior leadership role within Clydesdale Bank as UK Head of Professional Services sector to lead the bank’s growth in the sector across the UK.  With a reputation of being a serious thinker about the legal sector and its future, Sue advises law firms on topics such as succession planning, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, coping strategies, financial and funding solutions/balance sheet restructuring.  In 2008 she achieved an MBA in Legal Practice Management which gives her credibility when speaking to law firms.
