Achita has a wealth of experience.  She specialises in:

• Inter parties’ costs in child abuse claims and clinical negligence claims
• Publicly funded costs in very high costs cases in the Court of Protection (mental health and welfare).

Achita qualified as an advocate in India, which is the equivalent of a combined solicitor/barrister qualification. Having initially worked in a solicitor role, she subsequently took on a barrister role and conducted advocacy in the Bombay High Court.

She has continued to deal with advocacy within her costs career in detailed assessment proceedings and costs management hearings.

EXPERIENCE

Achita has been the lead on costs in the firm’s child abuse claims against Lambeth Council and has been involved in costs relating to claims against Medomsley Detention Centre and Anglican and Catholic churches.

She is also involved in the costs of claims against Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), arising from failures in maternity care.
