Jesus Fellowship compensation scheme opens
By David Greenwood
Sometimes known as the Jesus Army, the Jesus Fellowship has announced the opening of a compensation scheme for those caught up in this religious organisation.
I have been working for numerous victims of child neglect and abuse in recent years who have complained at their treatment within this organisation which some have characterised as a cult.
Based in Bugbrooke Northamptonshire, the organisation followed a strict version of Christianity, forbidding many modern activities and items.
Taking part in sports at school, wearing fashionable clothes and watching TV were eschewed, clothing was provided centrally and houses were shared. Assets of parents were given over to the trust.
Many of the clients I have helped complain of being deprived, neglected and sometimes physically and sexually abused. Some feel their life chances have been diminished by their treatment.
The opening of a scheme is welcomed. It may go some way to provide redress for some of the harmful activities of the Jesus Army activities.
If you would like me and my team to pursue your case through the scheme please get in touch. Call 01924 882000 or email david.greenwood@switalskis.com
